ZIBO HUIWEN can design and manufacture various kinds of plastic shells for home appliances. It can involve plastic shells of robot vacuum cleaners and charging bases. The manufacturing characteristics mainly exist in areas of material selection, molding process, structural design and functional adaptability.
 
1. Material Selection
- Weather Resistance and Fire Retardancy: Common materials are ABS, PC/ABS alloy or flame-retardant PP. They must be certified as UL94 flame retardancy (e.g., V-0 level) to enable long-term use and avoid potential safety hazards.
- Requirements on Surface Treatment: Anti-UV agents can be mixed in (for outdoor use) or matte/texture treatments can be carried out to enhance appearance.
- Environmental Compliance: RoHS, REACH compliant and others. Some premium products utilize recycled plastics.
 
2. Molding Process
- Injection molding is the dominant process: Suitable for mass production with high mold precision demands (within ±0.05mm) to ensure a tight fit when assembled.
- Two-color injection molding or IMD (Integrally Molded Design) process: Used on integrated design of indicator light windows or brand logos, reducing post-processing.
- Thin-walled molding technology: The shell is generally thin (wall thickness 1.5 to 2.5mm), and the runner needs to be optimized to avoid shrinkage marks.
 
3. Structural Design Features
- Modular Design: Segmented structure (e.g., base + cover) facilitates simple internal circuit maintenance. The snap-fit with screws offers both strength and disassemblability.
- Waterproof and Dustproof: Ratings of IP54 or higher are achieved by the use of sealing ring grooves, labyrinth forms, etc. (especially outdoor models).
- Heat Dissipation and Electromagnetic Shielding: Ventilated holes for reserved ventilation or metallic inserts are arranged to prevent overheat during charging or signal disturbance.
